Application of Automotive PCBA in Body Electronic Systems

2025/06/06 18:20:59

During the operation and use of a car, the body electronic system undertakes the important task of ensuring the basic functions of the vehicle and improving driving comfort and safety. As a core component within these systems, automotive PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) is deeply involved in the operation of every aspect.

1. Lighting Control System

Automotive PCBA acts as the brain” of intelligent lighting control. In automatic headlight systems, it interfaces with ambient light sensors to detect real-time external lighting conditions. When the light dims, the automotive PCBA quickly processes the signal from the sensor and controls the headlights to turn on automatically; when the light becomes brighter, the headlights can be turned off in time without the driver's manual operation.

The realization of adaptive high and low beam function also relies on automotive PCBA. It uses camera modules to capture information about the road ahead and surrounding vehicles, and then, through complex algorithmic analysis, precisely controls the switching between high and low beams. For example, when an oncoming vehicle is detected, the automotive PCBA will automatically switch from high beam to low beam to prevent glare interference to other drivers. Once the vehicle has passed, it promptly restores the high beam to ensure optimal road visibility.

In addition, the dynamic effect of the LED flowing turn signal is also achieved by the automotive PCBA precisely controlling the lighting order and time of each LED light bead. It not only enhances the technological sense of the vehicle's appearance, but also conveys the steering intention more clearly to other road users.

2. Window and Door Control System

In window and door control, the automotive PCBA is the key component enabling convenience and safety. For power window control, it receives signals from the door and window control buttons or remote key fobs and drives the motor to raise or lower the windows. At the same time, the automotive PCBA also has an anti-pinch function. It monitors the window running resistance in real time through built-in sensors. When an obstacle is detected, the automotive PCBA will immediately control the motor to reverse, stop the window and drop a certain distance to avoid pinching passengers.

The door locking system also depends on the automotive PCBA, which connects to the car keys wireless communication module. Upon receiving the correct unlock or lock signal, the automotive PCBA controls the door lock motor to perform the corresponding action. In some high-end models, the keyless entry function is enabled by the automotive PCBA, which detects the proximity of the key fob and automatically unlocks the doors and greatly improving user convenience.

3. Wiper Control System

The automotive PCBA brings intelligent adjustment capabilities to the windshield wiper system. In intermittent wiper mode, the automotive PCBA adjusts wiping frequency based on real-time rainfall data from the rain sensor. During light rain, the wipers operate intermittently at low speed; when rain intensity increases, the automotive PCBA increases wiping frequency to maintain a clear view for the driver.

Additionally, some vehicles also feature an automatic wiper parking function, which is also controlled by the automotive PCBA. When the wipers are turned off, the automotive PCBA controls the wiper motor to park the blades in an appropriate position at the bottom of the windshield, preventing obstruction of the drivers view and preserving the vehicles aesthetic appearance.

4. Body Control Module (BCM)

As the central hub of the body electronic system, the Body Control Module integrates automotive PCBA that manages and controls various body electrical functions. The automotive PCBA interfaces with various in-vehicle sensors and actuators to enable centrally and intelligent control of vehicle functions such as lighting, door and window, wipers, mirror adjustment, and window heating.

For example, when the vehicle is armed, the automotive PCBA within the BCM coordinates door locking and activates the anti-theft alarm system. Upon detecting a collision, the automotive PCBA can trigger door unlocking and fuel supply cutoff functions to enhance occupant safety. Simultaneously, the PCBA exchanges data with other control units via the vehicle network, enabling information sharing and collaborative operation, thereby enhancing the overall operational efficiency and reliability of the body electronic system.
