What are the Rigid PCB Materials Used in Electronic Products?

PCB circuit boards are commonly used in household appliances, televisions, radios, mobile phones, computers, digital and other electronic products. The more common type of material is usually called a rigid PCB. The current mainstream rigid PCB materials are classified as follows:

 

 

1. FR-4

FR-4, CEM-1 / 3, FR-1, these 3 materials are generally suitable for products that require high performance electronic insulation. Such as FPC stiffener board, PCB drilling pad, glass fiber meson, potentiometer carbon film printed glass fiber board, precision planetary gear (wafer grinding), precision test board, electrical equipment insulation support gasket, insulation pad board, transformer insulation Board, motor insulation, abrasive tools, electronic switch insulation board, etc.

 

 

4. Metal-based copper clad laminates are mainly aluminum-based, and a few are copper-based, iron-based, and steel-based. Metal-based copper clad laminates are the basic materials of the electronics industry. They are mainly suitable for processing and manufacturing printed circuit boards and are widely used in televisions, radios, computers, mobile communications and other electronic products.

 

 

5. 94V-0 and 94V-2 belong to the same class of flame retardant materials. Among these two types, 94V-0 belongs to the highest level among the flame retardant materials.

 

 

The materials of these circuit boards can also be divided into organic materials and inorganic materials:

A. Organic materials: Phenolic Resin, Glass Fiber/Epoxy Resin, BT/Epoxy, etc.

B. Inorganic materials: Aluminum, Copper-invar-copper, Ceramic, etc.

 

 

The materials of the circuit board and the technology used are different, and their thickness, number of layers and application range are also different. Because the performance and requirements of each electronic product are different, the circuit board used will be very different in design and post-production technology.
